Day 18 - Eyes wide open
My week has been extremely intense lately with work commitments - the great life working for a Professional Services company. I would be out of the house for more than 11 hours on average and when I come home, the puppies are usually being fed and then back to sleep. I am expecting the projects to finish up soon..just have been dragging way too long!

Little puppy trying to go back to sleep with the pack |
Puppies are now 18 days old and it has been an incredible experience watching them grow up. They are almost 1kg - still very light and moving around like a video in slow motion, it is very cute. Their eyes are wide open and learning to appreciate their surrounding more including their litter mates, sounds, Ella (the aunty), etc. At times, I hear them trying to bark and it sounds like tiny hiccups - very adorable!
It was only this weekend that I finally got to play and cuddle them for a good duration until I am satisfied (well honestly, until they start to look too uncomfortable being separated from the pack.. haha). I also am a bit paranoid that they might be too nervous around me and start to wet themselves (and on me). They do spend most of their time sleeping and young puppies usually pee almost straight away when they wake up...So I try not to hold them for too long.

I can't wait for them to grow bigger so that I can take them out in the garden to play and sniff around!! That would mean protecting my flowers and veggie patch. The last litter ate all my baby chilli and capsicum plants. I managed to save one capsicum tree left and thankfully it survived and still fruiting! Looking forward anyway =)
Until next time!!!
