Day 56 - Happy Eight Weeks!!

Just came back from overseas on Monday after being away for 9 days. Holiday was good, nothing too extravagant as I went back to my home town to visit family and attended my cousin's wedding. I bought three pair of new shoes haha! But I was missing the little puppies sooo much. I only had younger pictures of them on my iPhone to remind me how adorable they were. When I arrived home, I was so amazed to see how much the puppies have grown in 9 days!! They were crying so much when they saw me, I wondered whether they missed me or were actually hungry.

You stay on that side of the porch thank you very much!
Before I left, the puppies were shifted to sleep on the porch outside where they will have 24/7 access to the backyard and my veggie patch (grr!!).. thank goodness there are some fruits left. Good news to share that the puppies have advanced in Toilet Training lessons and are able to bring themselves to the grass to do their business. I did some garden cleaning yesterday and this morning and found that I was able to fill up my container (plastic pot average / standard size) with the puppies' and my dogs' poo. That's A LOT of feces in the bin! Eww I know!

And you too!

This week will be a busy week for me. The puppies are at that age where I am inviting the 'to be' families to visit the little ones and formally put them on hold. I have managed to match all four of them with families I hope will take very good care of them.

On Monday, I met with Jimmy's (the biggest and chubbiest pup) new family, the Choo family who have bought a giant pet carrier to fly him over to Sydney. Look how big it is! Jimmy will have so much space to do just about anything in there because he is still small. hehe.

That's the giant Qantas approved pet carrier. Sorry about the background mess.
Today, I met with the little girl, Mietta's new family, Robyn. She was very eager to meet her new baby and patiently waited for almost two months to finally see her!! All puppies were happy to meet Robyn too, and her shoes.. cheeky puppies. They are in this biting and pulling phase.. so cute yet quite painful when they bite you too haha. Meeting the other two families later this week!

What about Lily? Well she is becoming more willing to play with her puppies. Still gets a bit grouchy when they try to suckle her tits for milk, but sometimes she allows them. Lily is such a good mum, she educates and tells the puppy off better than I! At times when she yells at her puppy, the puppy whimps and yelps a little haha! Very good mummy!

There is a softer side of Lily too you know. She shares her chicken wing and high valued good raw meat with her selected pup. Today, Lily hid her chicken wing in the garden and finally pulled it out and shared half her wing with little Buddha. I took a picture of him eating.. can you see Lily on his side watching him eat?

Lily is going through a shedding season now, but this is hormonal reason since she has almost well and truly weaned off breast feeding her pups.. I find random fluff balls on the carpet that looks like cotton. Today, I took the initiative to brush her to remove as much fur chunks off her. My mum said we can make a pillow for Lily very soon with all that fur haha.

And finally.. I'm running low on puppy food again.. I was quite certain that before I left, this black can (below) was 2/3 full. The last time I bought a bag of puppy food was about a month (or just over) ago and wow.. it must be time to stock up.. and stock up on puppy can food too.. sigh.. I forget how much they eat some times..

Puppy kibbles almost gone. This will last me about a week I think..
Well this is it for today. Will keep you posted again very soon!

Jen.
