Day 62 - Birth of four healthy pups

It was a long Tuesday for Lily and me too! She was in labour since 6.30 AM (took me an hour to realise that she was in labour). I was all dressed up to go to work when I noticed ther odd behaviours. Lily was on and off panting more than usual (and it wasn't a hot day), she started digging and scratching the carpet and also the bed. At first, I was indecisive on whether I should work from home or go to work because she was a day early (and I was not convinced at the start being a day early). My uncertainty made me choose staying at home just in case she did give birth early.

Lily was in labour for over 12 hours!! I kept thinking to myself, I could've went to work today! But the other part of me said that if I did, I could've missed her giving birth and I wouldn't have been there throughout her labour. 

Lily was persistent to be on my brother's bed and she would do anything to stay there, even 15 minutes before she gave birth, she tried to jump on his bed. If we gave her a choice, she would've given birth on his bed for sure!! 

The first puppy came out just a few minutes to 9 PM. It was a boy! Then the second pup came about 9.30 PM. Another boy! The third was a girl and the last was boy at around 10.45 PM. I thought she was going to have a fifth pup because she looked like it, so we waited. But after about half an hour or so, Lily rested and had enough. 

As for the predictions on how many pups Lily will have, I was right! 3 boys and 1 girl!! I guessed that she will give birth after midnight, but looks like Lily finished close to midnight. 

What a long day we all had!! But it was worth the wait =)

The next two months will be a very exciting time as we see the growth and development of Lily's second litter. I look forward sharing my experiences with you.
